Click here to view the Machine Gun Shoot schedule

The participants are machine gun dealers, collectors and enthusiasts from all over the country. The Machine Gun Shoot itself consists of three days of machine gun shooting, dealer displays, shooting competitions and a spectacular Saturday Night Shoot.  The machine gunners are shooting at a wide variety of used appliances, abandoned vehicles, and barrels of fuel with pyrotechnic charges attached. The pyrotechnic charges are painted orange for the shooter to see. The charges are set off by the impact of the bullets, creating large mushroom clouds and fireballs from hell! (Click here to see a video of one of our machine gun shoots) Their objective is to destroy everything down range. A wide variety of rare and exotic weaponry will be on display for all to see, such as Water Cooled Brownings, Mini-guns, AK-47′s, MG-42′s, Tommy Guns, M-16′s, Vickers belt fed, Uzi’s, MP5′s & many others too numerous to mention. A big thank you to our sponsors.

Gun Show

The Military Gun Show has drawn dealers from across the country to buy, sell and trade rifles, pistols, shotguns, and machine guns. They also will be selling ammo, military surplus, hard to find gun parts and much more. The gun show consists of over 900 tables and is set up in a large lighted pole barn adjacent to the firing line and Clubhouse. Security is on patrol at all times. Knob Creek cordially invites you to come and support the second amendment, “the right to keep and bear arms“.

Assault Rifle Competition

The Assault Rifle Competition will require a minimum of 30 rounds with at least one magazine change likely. The course has a starting circle where all instructions are explained.  There are 4 shooting positions:  the first is off hand standing, there are 5 steel plates and a bonus target.  You are shooting left to right wiht one shot per target.  The second position is the same as the first, 5 steel targets and a bonus always left to right in sequence.  The third is sitting, there will be 5 steel targets on the hill shooting left to right with one shot per target.  Also at the bottom of the hill is a paper target , you will shoot at it 5 times.  Somewhere for semi rifles there must be a magazine change, doesn’t matter where.  The fourth position is prone, there will be 5 steel targets same as before shooting left to right, then the clock stopper.  You will shoot at this target until you knock it down, this stops the clock.

All steel targets will be done as 1 shot per target going from left to right. A target shot out of sequence will be called a missed target and a 10 second penalty will be assessed. In addition, there will be a bonus target on each stage. If hit you will have ten seconds removed from your total time. If missed there is no penalty. The object of this competition is to end up with the lowest possible time. Your score is based on moving time, target score and penalty score. The target distances will be from 50 yards to 125 yards. KCR Jungle Walk

The Jungle Walk is a sub-caliber (pistol cal. only) sub-machine-gun course, laid out in a wooded area setting next to the creek.  The course is a walking trail.  The shooter negotiates with a loaded sub-machine-gun in hand, with the range-controller following behind.  The brave sub-machine-gunner has 50 rounds of ammo and is looking for 18 metal (enemy) targets.  He has to ration his shots out on Full Auto in order to not run out of ammo and engage each target.  The Jungle Walk controller does not tell the shooter if he has hit the target when he fires (exceptions are the very young, very old or if they ask for help).  No help in sensing targets if the shooter wants to compete.  Many just want to shoot the Uzi for the first time in an interesting setting, so therefore are not competitors.

Targets: We score target hits first.  Then the time it took to go from the start line to the round hitting the last target.  The targets are blended into the wooded surroundings except for four of them.  These four targets are close together and are painted orange.  The shooter is supposed to spray with one continuous burst these four and is scored for area fire.  All 14 other targets are engaged individually and require an actual hit on each one.

Debriefing: When the shooter has finished the course, his sub-machine-gun is cleared.  He is told how many targets he has hit and his time for the course.  He is then escorted back to the starting line where the next shooter is waiting for his try in the vaunted “Jungle Walk”.

The Jungle Walk runs on Friday and Saturday from 9am to dusk. (Good Lord willin and the Creek don’t rise). Report to range early for squading.

The cost is $20 to shoot  if you have your own gun and ammo or $40 to shoot if you use our Uzi (ammo included).  This fee is paid at the Jungle Walk on the day you shoot.
